Core Drilling for Steel Removal

St Helens
ERB Developments

The Project Brief

We recently worked with our client ERB Developments on a St Helens-based project that allowed us to showcase our expertise as premier diamond drilling contractors.

Tasked with drilling 58 holes at 750mm diameter and 450mm depth, our team demonstrated the precision and skill needed to drill through concrete at a commercial level.

The holes were needed to remove existing steels embedded in the ground, which will be followed by drilling additional holes for dowel bars to facilitate the pouring of fresh concrete.

Throughout this project, our commitment to excellence ensured the successful execution of this task, reinforcing our reputation as trusted diamond drilling specialists.

Core Drilling in Cheshire

Core drilling is a precise construction technique that involves using a hollow, cylindrical drill bit to extract materials like concrete, rock and asphalt.

For core drilling projects, our team of concrete drilling contractors use diamond-tipped drill bits which rotate at high speed to cut through the target materials. Throughout the core drilling process, we typically use water to cool the drill bit and flush away dust and debris, making it a much tidier and less disruptive option than other methods.

When core drilling, safety is of the utmost importance for our team. We wear protective gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection.

The benefits of core drilling in construction are significant. It allows for non-destructive testing of structures, creates precise openings for utilities, and is incredibly accurate. Because this technique is less disruptive than traditional demolition methods, it is the ideal choice for renovation projects in occupied buildings.
