McLaren Floor Sawing Project

Silverstone, Northamptonshire
McLaren

The Project Brief

We are proud to have worked for our clients McLaren on the construction of their brand-new, top of the range Aston Martin factory and showroom in Silverstone, Northamptonshire.

Due to trenches being missed out of the initial construction plans, McLaren required our work at the last minute so that the project was not delayed. To ensure that our clients were not disappointed, our team did not hesitate to work over the Saturday and Sunday to complete the job in a timely and professional manner.

In order to cut the required trenches in the soon-to-be office and reception area of the factory, we used our electric floor saw to cut through the concrete floor quickly and efficiently, achieving the perfect cuts our clients required.

Floor Sawing

To create the required trenches for this project, our electric floor saw cut to depths of 120mm, but these specialist tools can actually cut up to 700mm deep - meaning that they are ideal for a wide range of construction projects both commercial and domestic.

Alongside being able to reach extreme depths, some of the other benefits to choosing saws with diamond-tipped blades include their extreme accuracy and precision, reduced opportunities for damaging the construction materials with cracks or unwanted breakage and also their speed. Whilst they are most commonly known for their use in jewellery, diamonds are an incredibly valuable asset to the construction industry for diamond drilling and concrete cutting and sawing as they can cut through building materials such as brick, concrete, stone and asphalt without issue.

Once we made the initial cuts in the floor, the excess material was then removed using our Hilti TE 1000 concrete breaker, meaning that we completed the project quickly and efficiently, leaving the site tidy for our client.

So, what did the client think?

This was a very urgent job due to the trenches being missed from the original construction plans, so our clients McLaren were extremely happy that we were able to complete the project over the weekend. This meant that the trenches were ready for the arrival of the electricians on Monday morning, and the project did not fall behind.
