As part of their project to remove and repurpose an old building unit in Woolston, Warrington, our clients Foden Estates required our diamond drilling and floor sawing services. This is because the concrete floor slab from the original unit was being repurposed for the new building, and would reduce waste.
To begin the cutting process, we started by using our specialist diamond drilling equipment to make initial holes in the large concrete floor slab. Often referred to as pilot drilling, this is a method concrete contractors such as ourselves use to guide larger drills and saws to achieve more accurate cuts and a precise end result.
Speed, precision and accuracy… There are a number of advantages to opting for a diamond drilling contractor. Our specialist diamond-tipped drills and saws can cut through a range of tough construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, metal, stone and marble with minimal noise, mess and disruption.
We offer our commercial services across the United Kingdom and our domestic services across the North West and East Midlands. So, if you’re based in Cheshire, Derby, or even Blackpool, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you’ve got a smaller job in mind.
To make the required cuts in the concrete floor slab, we then used two of our electric floor saws to cut 180m of concrete 150mm deep in less than three hours.
The client was very impressed with the speed and accuracy with which we completed the project, as they were initially planning on using hand saws to cut through the concrete slab themselves.
